Get Things Done With My Favourite Productivity Tools of 2021

Multiple devices on a desktop

As a Virtual Assistant, my main aim is to simplify life as you know it and alleviate stress by taking on tasks you can not get to. With this being said, I am always looking out for software tools that make life easier!

I want to share four of my top "can't-live-without" tools that I use every day. Three of these apps I discovered this year have made a massive difference in how I do things. What they have in common is their reasonable costs and how user-friendly they are.

  1. 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗿 - I tried and tested so many social media scheduling tools earlier this year when I discovered Publer. This is hands down one of my two best finds of 2021! I use a free version for some of my NGO clients to save costs, but the paid version is so cost-effective. You can add and remove accounts and team members as you need them at such reasonable rates that it is a no brainer just from a costing point of view. Publer is user-friendly and easy to navigate. The features are simply brilliant, with more being added all the time. Their support team is unbelievably helpful - nothing is too much trouble whether you're a free or paying customer. I could go on and on, but that will be a post for another day.

  2. 𝗖𝗼𝗽𝘆𝘀𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗵 - When I started my business in 2018, I looked for an app that could help with my writing skills. I know what I want to say, but I don't always know how to articulate it without using the same words or expressions. I would spend ages writing and editing the most simple paragraphs, and I still wasn't entirely happy with the results. This year, I discovered Copysmith, my other best find of 2021! This tool has been a game-changer for me. It allows me to generate written content so quickly which helps with many aspects of my business, including social media and website content for my clients. Several competitors popped up this year; I looked at one out of curiosity. I promptly left the site because it was not user-friendly as Copysmith. They are also constantly adding more features to generate different types of content, making this one of the best tools I've ever had the pleasure of using.

  3. Skedpal - This is a recent find but another game-changer for me. I've been using the time blocking technique to stay on top of my tasks and to-do lists. I've tried countless apps throughout the year and then discovered Skedpal in recent weeks. I already know this is going to be a favourite! I needed a tool to schedule specific times for various clients or tasks using the time-blocking method. This incredible tool will enable you to do just that. After you've entered all you need to do, you hit the "Update Schedule" button, and it schedules everything according to your parameters. It warns you if you're going to run out of time or if you've overstretched yourself so that you can plan your life better. I am so impressed by this tool so far; I'm already feeling more in control! There is a 14 day trial period and a very reasonable monthly fee or the option of a discounted annual payment.

  4. 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 - I think most people know about Grammarly, but my list will not be complete without it. It is a tool that will ensure that all correspondence is professional and flawless. It detects tone to determine if you're getting the correct message across. There is a free version with limited features, while the paid version of Grammarly offers a whole lot more to take your writing skills and grammar to another level.

I can't imagine what I would do without these tools. They've helped me do things faster, better, and more efficiently. They pay for themselves as you equate money to your time saved. Please do yourself a favour and check them out!
